Malavika started the coffee business along with her husband VG Siddhartha. She handled the CCD board, but she was not an executive board member. One day Siddhartha came up with a plan in order to expand the business. But she refused it. Siddhartha wanted to sell a cup of coffee for 25 INR, whereas it was available for 5 INR per cup.
After that, he decided to offer internet surfing along with coffee. She was on board and started the business together. The business was started in 1996. After her husband’s death, she took control. And, she has been running the daily operation of CCD since 2008.

According to the reports, Malavika’s husband went missing on the day 29 July 2019. It is said that he was heading to the Sakleshpur from Bengaluru in his car. He asked his driver to drive toward Chikmagalur. During the journey, he asked his driver to park the car near a bridge that was close to Chikmagalur. He got out of the car and asked his driver to wail for him. As per the driver, that day he waited for a long but VG Siddhartha never returned.
The driver searched a lot in that place. But there was no sign of him. When police got into this. One day the police team found the body in the Netravati River. The Police called a family member for the verification of the body. Later, a family member confirmed the body of Siddhartha.
